Free Construction Calculator Widgets

Add a useful construction calculator to a contractor, DIY, home-improvement or building website without rebuilding the math. Each widget uses the same tested calculator component as the full ProjectCalcWorks tool.

Choose a calculator for your article

These widgets are free to embed. The iframe loads the focused calculator experience while the full calculator remains the canonical, indexable page. The embedded view includes visible ProjectCalcWorks attribution and a link back to the complete tool.

  1. Choose the widget that answers a question in your article and add a short explanation of the inputs above it.
  2. Copy the iframe code into a Custom HTML block in WordPress, or the HTML/embed block supported by your editor.
  3. Preview your published page on a phone and desktop. Check that you can enter values, calculate and read the results. Increase the height if needed.

Keep the width at 100% so the widget adapts to its container. If your editor removes iframes, use the link-only code below each preview instead.

Gravel Calculator Widget

Let readers estimate gravel volume from area and depth, with optional weight and cost inputs kept visible.

Works well in: Garden-path guides, gravel-driveway articles and landscape material lists.

Example introduction and calculation

Measure the area and choose a gravel depth before estimating how much to order. Enter the material density supplied by your seller if you also need a weight estimate.

A 20 ft × 3 ft path at 2 in deep needs 10 ft³, or about 0.37 yd³, before any waste allowance.

Concrete Calculator Widget

Estimate concrete volume in cubic feet and cubic yards, with bag counts based on the exact product yield entered.

Works well in: Concrete slab tutorials, material-estimating worksheets and construction-math lessons.

Example introduction and calculation

Use your established slab dimensions to estimate concrete volume. For bagged concrete, enter the yield printed on the exact product you intend to use.

A 10 ft × 8 ft slab at 4 in thick needs about 26.67 ft³, or 0.99 yd³. At a supplied yield of 0.6 ft³ per bag, round up to 45 bags before waste.

Roof Pitch Calculator Widget

Convert rise and run into pitch, angle, slope percentage and the roof-pitch multiplier used in roof-area planning.

Works well in: Roof-pitch explanations, rise-and-run exercises and roof-area planning articles.

Example introduction and calculation

Convert a measured rise and horizontal run into roof pitch, angle and slope. Use the multiplier only for roof planes that share that pitch.

A 6:12 pitch is a 50% slope, an angle of about 26.57° and an area multiplier of about 1.118.

Embedding rules

Keep the visible attribution and full-tool link inside the embedded calculator intact. Do not frame the widget in a way that makes it appear to be your own calculation engine or hides where the result comes from.

The widgets are planning tools, not structural-engineering or code-approval services. If you publish them beside project advice, keep your own safety, local-code and professional-review guidance appropriate to the topic.
