Who is responsible for this site

Calculator inputs

The calculators perform their calculations in your browser. The site does not require an account, and calculator measurements are not intentionally sent to our server merely to produce a result.

The Project Budget Workspace can temporarily keep project-estimate line items in sessionStorage so a cost estimate can follow you between ProjectCalcWorks pages in the same browser tab. That session data can include a project label, quantity/unit, material cost, labor cost, fixed extras and the calculated total. It is not sent to a ProjectCalcWorks account or database, and the Workspace provides a clear-session control. Browsers normally discard sessionStorage when the tab/session is closed.

Technical and security data

When you request a page, hosting and delivery infrastructure may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, timestamps, network diagnostics and security signals. This information may be used to deliver the site, maintain availability, prevent abuse, investigate errors and protect the service.

Hosting and service providers

The site is delivered using third-party infrastructure, including Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery, DNS and related security or routing functions. Service providers may process limited technical data on our behalf or under their own applicable terms when providing these services.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage and improve the calculators and supporting content. The production integration starts with analytics and advertising storage denied, Google Signals disabled and ad-personalization signals disabled. In that state Google may receive limited cookieless measurement pings, while storage-based analytics remains unavailable unless the applicable consent state is later updated.

Where consent is required for analytics storage, it will not be granted by the site until the relevant consent controls are configured and the visitor makes the applicable choice.

ProjectCalcWorks' built-in calculator-lifecycle analytics events use the calculator slug, current page path and a coarse state such as start, completion, error or reset. They do not add measurements, prices, quantities or other calculator input values to those built-in analytics event payloads.

Advertising

Google AdSense is not currently serving ads on this site. The site may contain AdSense ownership-verification metadata or an ads.txt record before ad serving begins; those verification mechanisms do not by themselves enable advertising.

If advertising is enabled, this policy and the consent configuration will reflect the active setup before ads are served.

Cookies, local storage and session storage

The Project Budget Workspace uses browser sessionStorage for the temporary same-tab project budget described above. It does not use persistent localStorage for that budget.

The ProjectCalcWorks search and return-visit features can store a small list of saved resource paths and recently used calculator or guide links in browser localStorage. That preference data stays in the browser and is not sent to a ProjectCalcWorks account or database by those features. Recently used items can be cleared from the homepage, and browser site-storage controls can remove saved items.

ProjectCalcWorks does not intentionally set analytics or advertising storage while the relevant consent state is denied. Essential infrastructure may use limited storage or security mechanisms when necessary to deliver or protect the service. If storage-based advertising or analytics are enabled, additional cookies or local-storage technologies may be used subject to the applicable consent and privacy controls.

Purposes and legal bases

Where European data-protection law applies, technical processing necessary to operate, secure and maintain the site may be based on legitimate interests or the necessity of providing the requested service. Processing that requires consent—such as certain advertising or measurement activities—will use consent where required.

Retention

We aim to retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was processed, including security, diagnostics, legal obligations and dispute handling. Retention periods used by independent service providers are governed by their own policies and contractual obligations.

International processing

Some service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, those providers and the relevant contracting parties are responsible for using an appropriate transfer mechanism.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data, to object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to a competent data-protection authority.

Residents of U.S. states with applicable privacy laws may also have rights concerning access, deletion, correction, portability and certain uses or disclosures of personal information. When advertising is enabled, the configured privacy message will provide applicable choices where required.

Children

This site is intended as a general home-project planning resource and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a contact channel, contact us so the issue can be reviewed.

Your choices

Cookie and consent controls will be presented where required by the services enabled on the site. You can also use browser controls to manage cookies and other stored data.

Updates

We may update this policy when the site's services, analytics, advertising configuration or legal requirements change. Material revisions will be reflected by the effective date above.
