Concrete project cost

Concrete Cost Calculator: Slab, Yards & Cost per Sq Ft

Estimate concrete slab or ready-mix project cost from slab dimensions or cubic yards, then see the calculated project cost per square foot using the local material, labor and fixed costs that apply to your job.

Slab dimensions to cubic yards

Start with slab length, width and thickness

Use this helper when you know the slab dimensions but not the cubic-yard quantity yet. It uses the same tested concrete-volume formula as the main Concrete Calculator.

No extra material is added unless you enter it.

This helper estimates volume only. It does not assume reinforcement, subbase, finishing, pumping, delivery, short-load charges or labor.

Estimate project cost

Use rates from your supplier, installer or quote. ProjectCalcWorks does not insert a hidden national price assumption.

Plan concrete cost from the variables that actually move the budget

Concrete project cost is driven by volume, local ready-mix price, labor and job-specific extras such as pumping, short-load charges, reinforcement, finishing or disposal. Keeping those inputs separate makes the estimate easier to update when a quote changes.

The concrete slab intent is intentionally handled on this same cost page rather than creating a competing duplicate URL. Use the measured cubic-yard requirement and your current supplier or contractor rates.

How this estimate works

If you know slab length, width and thickness, use the slab helper first to convert those dimensions into cubic yards. If your supplier or plan already gives you cubic yards, enter that quantity directly in the cost estimator.

Then enter your quoted concrete price per cubic yard and any labor rate you want to model. Fixed extras can cover pumping, short-load fees, reinforcement, finishing or disposal.

total = adjusted material quantity × material rate + project quantity × labor rate + fixed extras

Example

For 10 cubic yards at $175 per cubic yard plus $90 per cubic yard of labor, the calculator starts from $1,750 material and $900 labor before waste and fixed extras. Example rates are illustrative only; replace them with supplier or contractor pricing for your project.

Calculate slab volume, use that volume in the cost estimate, then calculate cost.

Concrete slab cost from dimensions or cubic yards

For slab work, calculate the required concrete volume from length × width × thickness, or enter cubic yards directly when that quantity is already known. Then price the cubic yards using the ready-mix rate that applies to your order. Keep pumping, short-load fees, reinforcement, finishing and disposal visible as separate extras when they are quoted separately.

This page intentionally keeps slab intent on the same concrete-cost URL so the volume calculation and project budget do not compete across duplicate pages.

How concrete cost per square foot is calculated

project cost per sq ft = calculated project total ÷ slab area

The figure above uses the slab area from the dimension helper and the total from the cost estimator. It is not a national average. Change the supplier, labor and fixed-extra inputs to compare scenarios on the same slab area.

Concrete cost calculator questions

Can I enter slab dimensions instead of cubic yards?

Yes. Use the slab-dimensions helper on this page to convert length, width and thickness into cubic yards, then send that volume into the cost estimator. You can still enter cubic yards directly when you already know the required volume.

Where do delivery or short-load charges go?

Add them to fixed extras when they are not already included in the supplier's per-cubic-yard rate.

Does this include reinforcement and finishing?

Only when you add those costs explicitly. The calculator does not assume reinforcement, finishing, pumping or site preparation because project scope varies.
